Preparation:
Powder and form Troches of 1 dram each with wine boiled down to one quarter.
Function:
Opens Obstructions, resolves Hardness
Use:
1. Hardness and Swelling of the Spleen
2. Hardness of other Abdominal organs
3. Also useful for Scrofula and Swelling of the Lymph nodes
Dose:
1 dram, taken with Oxymel of Seeds
Cautions:
None noted
Modifications:
It is stronger if Madder and Lacca are added.
Similar Formulas:
Mesue was the originator of Troches of Capers. This is either a different version from Mesue, or penned by another author inspired by that of Mesue.
Used the same as Troches of Lacca.
