Preparation:
Powder the herbs, add the Coral in fine powder, then add sufficient Sugar of Rosemary to give in a gentle sweetness (1⁄2–1 oz.)
Function:
Warms the Head, settles Wind, stops Spasms, regulates Qi and Blood
Use:
1. Headaches from Cold and Wind
2. Amnesia
3. Spasms
4. Vertigo
5. Dizziness
6. other diseases of the Head associated with Cold and Wind

1 dram

Modifications:
1. A version in Antidotarium medico chymicum reformatum (1620) used 2 drams each of Calamus and Red Coral, and used 1 scruple each of the herbs listed as 2 scruples above.
The Tibetan Medicine ‘Red Coral 25’ is based on Red Coral and is also used for various diseases of the Head. It contains several of the same medicines including Red Coral, Calamus and Clove. However, Red Coral 25 is stronger due to Chebulic Myrobalan, Aconite and the addition of various other stones including Pearl, Lapis Lazuli, Cinnabar and Magnetite, and is potentized with Saffron and Musk.
