Preparation:
Powder and form pills.
Function:
Opens obstructions, Improves Digestion, purges downward, promotes Menstruation and expulsion of the Afterbirth
Use:
1. Indigestion
2. Abdominal distention
3. Bloating
4. Abdominal cramps, colic
5. Food Poisoning
6. Upward rising Qi
7. Inguinal Hernia
8. Constipation with Bloating
9. Hemorrhoids
10. Promotes Menstruation; Amenorrhea with lower back and abdominal pain
11. Irregular Menstruation with dizziness, breast tenderness and depression
12. Difficult Childbirth
13. Retained Placenta
14. Removes a Dead Fetus
15. Mastopathy
Dose:
1500mg–3 grams twice daily in hot water
Cautions:
1. Not used during Pregnancy.
2. Not used in heavy menstruation
3. Harmful in. Lung diseases
Modifications:
1. Taken with Swertia 8 it is called Zhi tig and is used to clear Heat and Damp, relieve abdominal bloating and distention, poor appetite, urinary disorders during pregnancy, and diseases of the Head from Phlegm and Bile [Damp-Heat].
2. Taken with Costus 6 it is called Zhi ru and is used for pain and rumbling of the Stomach and Intestines, vomiting sour fluid, enhances digestion and relieves pain from digesting food.
3. Taken with Golden 5 for abdominal bloating and rumbling, belching and vomiting, loss of appetite, dry stool, vomiting, bitterness in the mouth, and digestive disorders from Phlegm-Bile [Damp-Heat].
4. When a predominate dose of Rhubarb is used, it forms Zhi lchum.

A ru ra (Chebula) 95 grams
Lcum rtsa (Rhubarb) 270 grams
Cong Zhi (Calcite) 150 grams
Bul tog (Sodium carbonate) 180 grams
Used for Bloating, Rumbling, abdominal distention with Constipation.
