* Pinellia is prepared with Ginger
** Arisaema is prepared with Bile.
*** Cinnabar is washed well in water.
Preparation:
Powder and form pills with a concentrated decoction of Licorice (120 grams), Bamboo juice (100 mls) and Ginger juice (50 mls).
Function:
Clears Phlegm, Stops Wind, Opens the Orifices
Use:
White and greasy tongue coat, slippery Pulse.
1. Seizures
2. Epilepsy
3. Convulsions
4. Vertigo
5. Dizziness
6. Numbness or Hemiplegia following stroke.
Dose:
6 grams twice daily.
Cautions:
1. Not used for cases with Heat
2. Not used long-term (due to Cinnabar)
3. Not used for Yin deficiency (or take with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan).
Modifications:
1. Marked weakness from Deficient Qi, add Ginseng
2. Yin deficiency take with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan.
3. Today, Cinnabar is best omitted.
