Preparation:
Boil in 3 pints of Water to 28 ounces; strain and add Syrup of dried Roses 4 ounces, mix.
Function:
Astringent, clears Heat, stops Bleeding
Use:
1. Heat-type Bleeding of the Lungs, Stomach, Bladder, Kidney or Bowels
2. Excessive Menstruation associated with Heat
Dose:
1⁄4 pint twice daily
Cautions:
None noted
Modifications:
1. To Make stronger, the following was traditionally added: Sugar of Lead 1 scruple; Astringent Crocus of Mars 4 scruples; Mix.
2. This can be simplified to Nettle root, Comfrey root, Yarrow and Plantain
