Preparation:
Powder the herbs. Crush the prepared Bdellium (Guggulu) and gently boil in the decoction to a desired thickness, then add the remaining herbs in powder, the Bhasma, and the Castor oil, and mix well, adding a little Ghee to achieve a desired plasticity. Then form pills.
A more simple way is to mix the powdered herbs with the prepared Bdellium, then to triturate with the decoction, then dry and form Pills (or Tablets).
Function:
Clears Damp, Settles Wind, Promotes Urine, Eases Pain
Use:
1. Gout
2. Arthritis
3. Chronic Back pain
4. Sciatica
5. Rheumatism
6. Spondylitis
7. Frozen Shoulder
8. Painful or Difficult Urination
9. Urinary Stones
Dose:
500mg–1 gram, three times daily.
If necessary, the dose can be increased to 3 grams twice daily.
Maximum daily dose is 6 grams.
Cautions:
1. Not used in Pregnancy
2. Not used in Yin deficiency
3. Not used in Heat (Bile) conditions
4. Avoid in Hyperacidity, Heartburn, Gastroduodenal Ulcers, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's disease etc.
5. May increase menstrual bleeding so avoid use in women with excess menstruation
6. Side effects from excess dose may include Vertigo, Restlessness, Hyperacidity
Modifications:
1. Damp–Heat type Arthritic disorders, take with Kaisor Guggulu
2. Urinary Stones, take with Goksuradi Guggulu
