Function:
Clears Wind-Heat, Clears Heat from the Blood and Liver, Moves the Blood, Stops Cough
Used for disorders caused by combined Phlegm and Blood, and Phlegm and Blood affecting the Lungs.
Also for Blood Heat and rising Heat from the Liver.
Use:
1. Sore Throat, Hoarseness
2. Cough with difficult expectoration
3. Shortness of Breath
4. Tightness and oppression of the chest
5. Chest congestion following Cold or Influenza
6. Hypertension
7. High Cholesterol
8. Thyroid swellings
9. Fibrocytic Breast Disease
10. Menopausal symptoms
Dose:
2–3 grams, twice daily with warm water

Modifications:
This is an interesting formula, with several quite distinct areas of use, according to various sources. It is primarily indicated in diseases of the Lungs. It also has a positive effective on the Liver, clearing Heat, stopping rising Heat, resolving congestion, and moving the Blood, thereby being useful for High Cholesterol and Hypertension. It also treats combined Phlegm and Blood diseases, and is therefore used for Thyroid swelling and Fibrocytic Breasts.
