Preparation:
Decoct all except the Dates in sufficient water until one-third has evaporated, adding the cut Dates at the end.
Function:
Clears Heat and Phlegm, clears Irritation, stops Cough, Laxative
Use:
1. clears Phlegm and Heat from the Lungs, good for Cough and Bronchitis;
2. clears Phlegm and Heat from the Stomach and Bowels;
3. it is gentle, and strengthens while cleansing;
4. also clears Heat from the Liver
5. used for Hernias.
Dose:
2–4, or 6 ounces.
Cautions:
None noted
Modifications:
1. Dandelion may replace Chicory; Sebestens may be replaced by increasing the number of Prunes or Jujubes.
2. To Purge, take with Rhubarb powder.
