Preparation:
Prepare a standard decoction.
In severe cases, the doses are doubled
If a purgative effect is required, Rhubarb root is added towards the end, otherwise it may be cooked with teh other herbs.
Function:
Clears Heat and Damp, Resolves Jaundice
Use:
Jaundice, abdominal distention, difficult urination, yellow greasy tongue coat and a slippery rapid pulse.

Dose:
The above decoction is divided into 3 equal doses to be taken over the course of a day.
Cautions:
1. Not used for "Yin" Jaundice; only for Jaundice with Damp-Heat
2. Lower the dose of Rhubarb if used during pregnancy, and cook it with the other herbs.
Modifications:
1. If there is more Dampness, add Job';s Tears (Yi Yi Ren), Magnolia Hou Po, Talcum (Hua Shi)
2. If there is stronger Heat, add Gentiana Long Dan Cao, Coptis Huang Lian and Forsythia Lian Qiao
3. Scanty Urination, add Plantain seed (Che Qian Zi) and Water Plantain root (Ze Xie)
4. Jaundice, atke with Da Chai Hu Tang
5. Jaundice with Toxic Heat, take with Huang Lian Jie Du Tang
6. Jaundice predominately from Damp, remove Rhubarb and add Water Plantain root (Ze Xie), Poria Fu Ling, Atractylodes Bai Zhu and Cinnamon (Rou Gui)
7. Jaundice from acute Hepatitis with Chills and Fever, add Bupleurum Chai Hu, Scutellaria Huang Qin
8. Cholecystitis with take with Da Chai Hu Tang
9. Cholecystitis with strong Heat, take with Long Dan Xie Gan Tang
10. Gall Stones, add Lysimachia Jin Qiao Cao and Bupleurum Chai Hu
11. Also for Gall Stones, add Scutellaria Huang Qin, Lysimachia Jin Qiao Cao and Bitter Orange (Zhi Ke)
