Function:
Warms and Strengthens the Kidneys and Spleen, Promotes Urine, clear Damps, moves Qi
Use:
1. Indigestion; promotes Digestion
2. Poor appetite
3. Abdominal Swelling or Bloating due to Cold and Damp
4. Depletion of the Fiery warmth of the stomach
5. Edema (‘three stages of Edema’) and Ascites
6. Anemia
7. Difficult, Dribbling or Frequent Urination
8. Pain of the Bladder or Urethra
9. Urinary Tract Infections
10. Cold Diarrhea
11. Spermatorrhea; exhaustion or leakage of Semen
12. Arthritis and Rheumatism
13. Kidney, Waist or Lower Back Pain
14. Exhaustion of Heat in the Kidneys and Lower Back
15. Diseases of the Serous Fluid; In particular, it dries out inflammation of the lymph
16. Tumors
17. Infections without Fever
18. "Rasayana for prolonging life and strengthening the body.”
Dose:
2–3 grams twice daily, dissolved in hot water
Cautions:
Very warm and dry so not suitable for Yin-deficient Heat
Modifications:
1. When Malva verticillata is added it forms Mandala of the Sun 11. It has basically the same indications.
2. Taken with Garuda 5 it is used for Difficult, Painful or Frequent Urination
