Preparation:
Decoct the Hematite, then add the Fossil bones and Shell, and boil for half an hour; then add the herbs and cook a further 30 minutes. Also used in pill form

Function:
Calms the Liver, Stops Wind, Nourishes Yin and harnesses Yang

Use:
Wind diseases with Yin deficiency, red face, red and dry tongue, possibly stiff or trembling tongue, with a wiry, forceful pulse

1. Dizziness
2. Vertigo
3. Tinnitus
4. Irritability
5. Loss of Speech
6. Sudden Loss of consciousness
7. Inability to recover after loss of consciousness
8. Mental confusion

9. Cerebral Arteriosclerosis
10. Cerebral Thrombosis
11. CVA, Stroke
12. Post-stroke recovery
13. Prevents Stroke in patients at risk
14. Transient Ischemic attacks

15. Progressive Motor dysfunction
16. Facial asymmetry that occurs slowly over hours or days


Dose:

The above is taken over the course of the day
In Pills or Powder it can be taken in doses of 3–6 grams twice daily.

Cautions:
1. Not during Pregnancy; use cautiously when breastfeeding
2. Caution in marked Spleen (digestive) weakness with poor appetite and loose stool 3. Cautiously in very weak patients


Modifications:
1. Severe heat, add Gypsum
2. Severe Phlegm add Arisaema Dan Nan Xing (prepared with Bile) 3. Stroke, add Earthworm, Peach kernel and Sa
fflower
4. If with severe Liver heat, add Gentiana Long Dan Cao
