Amount


60 grams each

Preparation:
Powder
Can also be used in decoction using 9 grams each of Atractylodes Bai Zhu, Saposhnikovia Fang Feng with 12–20 grams of Astragalus Huang Qi.

Function:
Tonifies Qi, strengthen the Exterior (Surface of the Body), Stops Sweating

Use:
Weakness, prone to Colds and Flu, aversion to Wind, pale face, sweats easily, pale tongue with whitish coat, floating and weak pulse

3. Prone to Cold and Flu; repeated infection with Cold or Flu
4. Recurring Respiratory tract infection
5. Mild Bronchitis in Children; exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis
6. Chronic Rhinitis; Allergic Rhinitis
7. Allergic Dermatitis
8. Atopic Dermatitis
9. Spontaneous Sweating
10. Weakened Immune system


Dose:
Take 9 grams of the powder with decoction of Jujube Da Zao (Chinese Red Date) with or without fresh Ginger

Cautions:
1. Not used in excess conditions
2. Not for Night-sweating due to Yin de
ficiency


Modifications:
1. Often the dosage of Astragalus is increased to 120–300 grams (2–5 times the dosage of the other herbs).
2. Dizziness with Blood de
ficiency, add Angelica Dang Gui and Ligusticum Chuan
Xiong
3. Skin eruptions, add Angelica Dang Gui and Paeonia Bai Shao
4. Marked deficiency, add Ginseng and Licorice
