Preparation:
Prepare a standard decoction.
Function:
Clears Exterior Wind-Heat, Stops Cough
Use:
Mild Fever, Cough, floating rapid pulse
1. Common Cold
2. Influenza
3. Acute Respiratory Tract Infection
4. Acute Cough, acute Bronchitis
5. Acute Conjunctivitis
Dose:
The above decoction is divided into 3 equal doses to be taken over the course of a day.
Cautions:
None noted
Modifications:
1. Severe Lung Heat Cough, add Scutellaria Huang Qin
2. For thick, yellow Phlegm that is hard to clear, add Trichosanthes Gua Lou Pi and Fritillaria Zhe Bei Mu.
3. Acute Sore Throat, add Burdock seed (Niu Bang Zi)
4. Acute Wind-Heat affecting the Eyes, add Cassia seed (Jue Ming Zi), Prunella (Xia Ku Cao)
