Mu Dan Pi (Tree Peony)
Sheng Di Huang (Rehmannia)
Dang Gui (Chinese Angelica)

Latin
Coptis chinensis
Cimicifuga foetida
Paeonia suffruticosa
Rehmannia gltinosa
Angelica sinensis
Amount
1.8 grams
3 grams
1.5 grams

0.9 grams ea.

Preparation:
Powder the herbs and take as a draught. (Source text)
Today it is often prepared as a standard decoction with an increase in dose.
Can also be prepared as Pills or Powder..


Function:
Clears Stomach Heat, Cools the Blood, Nourishes Yin

Use:
Fever, Red tongue and a dry Mouth, large and fast pulse.
1. Toothache
2. Bleeding Gums, Sores of the gums or mouth.
3. Gingivitis, Stomatitis
4. Glossitis
5. Trigeminal Neuralgia
6. Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)

Dose:

The above decoction is divided into 3 equal doses to be taken over the course of a day.

Cautions:
Not used in Cold conditions or Stomach weakness.

Modifications:
1. For Constipation, or to more strongly Purge excess Heat, add Rhubarb Da Huang.
