* Some versions order White Sandalwood; some versions order an equal amount of both Red and White Sandalwood

Preparation:
Prepare a coarse powder to be used to make a decoction.

Function:
Clears Heart Fire, Settles Wind, Regulates Heart

Use:
1. Heart Disease
2. Heart Fire

3. Wind and Heart affecting the Heart with Palpitation and Arrhythmias
4. Angina Pectoria

5. Excitement from excess Heat affecting Heart and Mind.
6. Depression associated with the Heart
7. Oppression and pain of the Chest

8. Stabbing pain in the upper part of the Body
9. Burning feeling in the Upper Back and Chest.

Dose:
Prepare a decoction (1 in 8) and have a small cupful 2–3 times daily.

Cautions:
None noted

Modifications:
1. Another version uses half part each of Red and White Sandalwood instead of 1 part Red Sandalwood, and uses a double part of Choerospondias.
2. Another version uses Nutmeg (25 parts), Choerospondias and Caraway (30 parts each). It is specifically for Stabbing pain in the Heart from rLung (Wind).

This formula is known both as Nutmeg 3 Decoction and Sandalwood 3 Decoction. Under the first name is generally listed Red Sandalwood, or equal parts of Red and White Sandalwood. Under the second name is geenrally listed White Sandalwood.
