Prepare as a decoction
Function:
Tonify the Blood and Qi
Use:
1. Anemia
2. Amenorrhea
3. Functional Uterine Bleeding
4. Fatigue, pale face, thirst, red cheeks
5. Headache due to Blood deficiency, after Menstruation or Childbirth
6. Poor healing wounds and Ulcers; Wounds or Ulcers with pus
7. Leukopenia; supportive treatment during Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy.
8. Thrombopenic purpura.
Dose:
the above is taken over the course of the day in 2 or 3 doses.
Cautions:
1. Not used in Yin deficient patients.
Modifications:
1. General blood deficiency, add Paeonia Bai Shao and Rehmannia Shu Di Huang.
2. More Qi deficiency, add Atractylodes Bai Zhu and Licorice Gan Cao.
3. With coldness of the hands and feet or cold joint pain, add Cinnamon twig Gui Zhi.
