Preparation:
Powder, and with decoction of Indian Spikenard (Jatamansi) grind to a paste, from which form pills.
Function:
Moves the Blood, Promotes Menstruation
Use:
1. Amenorrhea
2. Dysmenorrhea
Dose:
150–500mg
Begin with lower dose and only increase as needed.
Cautions:
1. Not used during Pregnancy
2. This is a strong medicine and should only be used in strong constitutions, or patients with severe Menstrual pain, and only after more gentle medicines have failed.
3. Overdose may cause heavy menstrual bleeding
Modifications:
1. If Saffron is added, this forms the basis from Common Pills.
2. If there is marked coldness, Cinnamon can be added, which then makes it similar to Birth Powder..
