Sang Lang (Tibetan Medicine)

Skyer sang lang (Tibetan): Rhamnella gilgitica

Botanical name:
Three varieties of San Lang are used in Tibetan Medicine:
  1. Skyer sang lang: Rhamnella gilgitica
  2. Can dan sang lang: Xanthoceras sorbifolia
  3. Ga sang lang: Cephalotaxus sinensis (syn. C. harringtonii var. sinensis, C. drupacea globosa, C. drupacea var. sinensis)

In TCM, several local varieties of Cephalotaxus are used synonymously with C. sinensis including C. hainanensis, C. harringtonii, and C. fortunei

Uses:
1. Clears Wind-Damp, Relieves Swelling, Stops Pain:

-Wind-damp pain of the Muscles and Joints; Arthritis, Rheumatism
-can be used for Wind-Damp-Heat pain
-pain in the Bones and Joints


Cepahlotaxus spp:
2. Moves the Blood, Resolve Masses:

-used for various types of Cancer in TCM
-Cancer of the Stomach, Colon, Lung, Esophagus
-Lymphatic sarcoma, leukemia

1. Rhamnus davurica
2. The stem of Acacia catechu is said to be collected for this medicine
