Uses:
1. Strengthens Kidneys, Tonifies Yang:
-Impotence, Premature Ejaculation, Spermatorrhea
-Urinary frequency, Incontinence
-Infertility in male or female, irregular Menstruation
-Menopausal Syndrome
-Cold pain in the lower abdomen, Back pain and weakness
-'reinforces Essence' (Ming Yi Bie Lu); increases Qi (Shen Nong Ben Cao)
2. Clears Wind-Damp, Benefits the Sinews and Bones:
-wind-cold painful obstruction of the bones and joints (especially with Kidney deficiency)
-lower back pain, weakness and tension
-stiffness, difficulty moving; weakness of the legs
Dose:
Decoction: 6–15 grams
Powder: 2–5 grams
Preparation:
1. Stir-fried Morinda Ba Ji Tian:
Stir-fry Morinda root with glutinous rice in a dry wok until the rice tuirns yellow.
2. Wine-prepared Morinda Ba Ji Tian:
Soak the root in wine overnight, then dry.
Decoction: 6–15 grams
Powder: 2–5 grams

ii. Morinda Ba Ji Tian with Cistanche Rou Cong Rong, Eucommia Du Zhong, Placenta
iii. or Male Infertility, Morinda Ba Ji Tian with Raspberry fruit (Fu Pen Zi), Cistanche Rou Cong Rong, Velvet Deer Horn (Lu Rong)
2. Impotence, Infertility:
i. Morinda Ba Ji Tian with Ginseng and Dioscorea Shan Yao.
ii. Morinda Ba Ji Tian with Cinnamon, Cnidium She Chuang Zi, Cistanche Rou Cong Rong
3. Coldness of the Womb, irregular Menses, and leukorrhea Morinda Ba Ji Tian with Galangal (Gao Liang Jiang), Wisteria (Zi Teng), Cinnamon Bark, and Evodia Wu Zhu Yu (as in Ba Ji Wan, from Imperial Grace Formulary of the Tai Ping Era),
4. Lower Back pain, Joint pain:
i. Morinda Ba Ji Tian with Eucommia Du Zhong, Achyranthes Niu Xi, Acanthopanax Wu Jia Pi.
ii. Cold-Damp Rheumatism, Morinda Ba Ji Tian with Aconitum Fu Zi, Acanthopanax Wu Jia Pi, Cyathula Niu Xi, Dendrobium Shi Hu, Licorice, Poria Fu Ling, Saposhnikovia Fang Feng. (as in Ba Ji Tang from Wonderful Well-Tried Prescriptions)
iii. Lower Back and Knee pain and weakness, barely able to walk, with Cyathula Niu Xi, Notopterygium Qiang Huo, Cinnamon, Acanthopanax Wu Jia Pi, Eucommia Du Zhong, Ginger Root. (as in Ba Ji Wan, from The Great Peace Sagacious Benevolence Formulary),
5. Menopausal syndrome with flushing, sweating, irritability, insomnia with Yin and Yang deficiency and deficiency Heat, Morinda Bai Ji Tian with Anemarrhena Zhi Mu, Phellodendron Huang Bai, Epimedium Yin Yang Huo, Dang Gui (as in Er Xian Tang)
6. Beriberi, stir-fried Morinda Bai Ji Tian with stir-fried Rhubarb (Da Huang), form honey pills. (Ben Cao Gang Mu)
