Uses:
1. Clears Damp, Benefits the Liver, Opens Obstructions:
-cleanses the Blood
-obstructions of the Liver and Spleen

2. Clears Damp, Promotes Urine:
-cleanses the Kidney and Bladder, promotes Urine

3. Stops Bleeding, Promotes Healing:
-haemoptysis, hematuria, and internal ulcers
-Wounds

-Cures
Ruptures (Hernia)

4. Benefits Lungs, Stops Cough:
-Chronic Lung disease
-Tuberculosis


5. Cleanses the Womb

6. Externally:
-Wounds, Ulcers
-skin inflammation, redness, Rashes
-Tonsilitis



Main Combinations:
1. Liver Heat:
i. Liverwort with Centaury and Dandelion
ii. Liverwort with Barley, Asparagus root, Chicory, Dandelion, Fumitory, Hops, Licorice, Dodder (as in Syrup of Chicory and Rhubarb of Nicholas)
2. Inflammation of the Liver, Liverwort with Scarlet Pimpernel, Walnut leaf, Juniper berry, Heartsease, Alder Buckthorn (Frangula) bark (Ulrich)

Major Formulas:
Syrup of Chicory and Rhubarb (Nicholas)

Green Ointment:
Fresh Juniper berries (3 oz.), Fresh herbs of Southernwood, Mugwort, Easter Daisy, Betony, Fennel, Hyssop, Mint, Liverwort, Yarrow, Marjoram, Plantain, Veronica, Vervain, Sage, Rue (of each 1 oz.), Butter (48 oz.). Boil until the herbs crisp, and strain

Cautions:
1. High doses may irritate Kidneys and urinary tract. (Duke)
