Preparation:
Cover by 4 finger-breadths, then boil gently to half. Preferably decocted in Whey but can also be boiled in water. Whey powder could also be added to the strained water decoction.
If a stronger purgative effect is desired, in the strained Decoction, infuse:
Rhubarb 2–4 drams
Spikenard 1 scruple
Schoenanth ½ dram
Infuse overnight, bring briefly to the boil, then strain.
Function:
clears Heat, Bile and Burnt Humors from the Blood, resolves Toxin, opens the Liver
Use:
“It is a good thing to purify the Blood, cleanse the Bowels, and rectify the weakness and disorders of the Stomach and Liver”. (Salmon)

4. Jaundice
5. Liver obstruction

8. Taken in Spring time to cleanse the Blood
Dose:
2–4 oz. in the morning.
Cautions:
Use cautiously in Cold and weak Digestion.
