Uses:
1. Clears Toxin, Stops Leakage:
-Diarrhea, chronic bacterial Diarrhea "especially that of Phthisis" (Squires)
-Dysentery, Cholera
2. Clears Wind-Phlegm, Stops Spasms:
-Epilepsy, Neurosis
3. Clears Phlegm, Promotes Vomit:
-small doses clear Phlegm (taken with vinegar)
-300mg dissolved in water and taken is a prompt emetic
4. Externally:
-Boils, Acne, Itching, Eczema, Warts
-Ulcers, Fistula
-stops Bleeding
-chronic inflammations, malignant Ulcers, Pharyngitis, Tonsillitis (0.2-1% in solution or ointment)
-calcined mineral is applied to Mouth Ulcers and Swollen Gums
Dose:
It is take with Vinegar or Oxymel to clear Phlegm
Powder: 5–7 mg (up to 10 or 15 mg)
150–300 mg is Emetic
Preparation:
One of the following methods can be used:
1. take 100 grams of Powdered Copper Sulphate and dissolve in 50mls of hot water, and after some time strain through fine cloth or filter paper and placed in a bottle until crystallised. This Crystallised Copper Sulphate should be used.
2. Impregnate powdered Copper Sulphate with the juice of Citrus aurantifolia for 6 hours. It is then purified.
3. The cleansed Copper Sulphate is impregnated and triturated with a Decoction of Triphala (the 3 Myrobalans); this is repeated 3 times.
4. It can be rubbed with half its weight of Sulphur, then burnt in Putam to remove its emetic qualities. This is repeated several times. (Ayurveda)
5. For Internal use it is rubbed with honey or ghee, then heated in a crucible. This is said to be free from toxicity, and does not induce vomiting. (Unani)

4. Intermittent Fever, Blue Vitriol with Calamus, Licorice
5. Acute Sore Throat or Throat Inflammation, Blue Vitriol with White Dead Silkworm (Bai Jiang Cao) (Ben Cao Gang Mu)
6. Swollen Gums, Chinese Red Dates (Da Zao) are calcined with Blue Vitriol. The powder is applied (Ben Cao Gang Mu)
7. Boils, Acne:
i. Blue Vitriol, Turmeric, Catechu, Resin. Powder and mix with oil and apply. (Ayurveda)
ii. Blue Vitriol, Red Lead, Resin (2 parts each), Catechu (1 part), Litharge (3 parts). Powder and mix with heated clarified Butter and Wax. (Ayurveda)
8. Eczema, Blue Vitriol, Turmeric, Psoralea seed, Sodium carbonate, Sulphur; powder, mix with Mustard oil and apply. (Ayurveda)
9. Vitiligo, Blue Vitriol, Oyster shell powder and vinegar are mixed and applied. (Ben Cao Gang Mu)
10. Paronychia, apply calcined Blue Vitriol (Ben Cao Gang Mu)
11. Anal Fistula, apply calcined Blue Vitriol with Honey. (Ben Cao Gang Mu)
12. Red, painful, sore eyes, hot water solution of calcined Blue Vitriol is used as an eye wash. (Ben Cao Gang Mu)
13. Psor ophthalmia: Copper Sulphate (dissolve in distilled water), Zinc oxide, Camphor (triturated with olive oil), fresh Butter, mix.
