Preparation:
Powder
Function:
Clears Wind, purges Heat, clears the Exterior
Use:
Fever and chills, dizziness, red eyes, thick yellow phlegm, bitter taste, red tongue with yellow coat and a rapid or wiry pulse.
1. Influenza (heat-type)
2. Acute upper respiratory tract infection
3. Carbuncles
4. Dermatitis
5. Acne
6. Urticaria
7. Heat rash
8. Food poisoning
9. Acute Mania
10. Obesity
Dose:
6–9 grams with a decoction of fresh Ginger
Cautions:
Only used for acute cases with Heat
Modifications:
1. With Chills, remove Ephedra
2. If there is no marked Fever, omit Gypsum.
