Botanical name:

There are 3 types of Sro lo:

  1. Sro lo dkar po: Pegaeophyton scapiflorum (syn. Eutrema scapiflorum)
  2. Sro lo dmar po (mtskhan dmar, chan dmar) Rhodiola euryphylla or Rhodiola crenulata
  3. Sro lo smug po, Solms-Laubachia eurycarpa, Solms-laubachia shirokoplodnaya

Cool, dry. Sweet

Uses:

General indications for the Sro lo group:
1. Clears Heat from the Lungs, Stops Cough:

-Lung Heat Cough, Bronchitis

2. Clears Heat and Poison:

-common cold with Fever; Epidemic Fever

3. Benefits Qi:

-increases strength; Fatigue, Weakness
-Breathlessness

Dose:

Decoction: 3–9 grams
Powder: 1–3 grams

Substitute:

1. As it is more readily available, Rhodiola may generally be used for Sro lo
2. Stellaria dichotoma Yin Chai Hu
