Botanical name:

Solms-Laubachia eurycarpa (syn. Solms-laubachia dolicocarpa, Solms-laubachia latifolia)
In Tibetan Medicine it is one of the three Sro lo:

1. Sro Lo dmar po: Rhodiola spp. (as above)
2. Sro Lo dkar po: Pegaeophyton scapiflorum
3. Sro Lo smug po: Solms-Laubachia eurycarpa

Parts used:

Root

Temperature & Taste:

Cool, Sweet, Bitter

Uses:

1. Clears Lung Heat, Stops Cough:

-Cough, Bronchitis

2. Clears Heat and Poison:

-Cold, Flu, acute Cough
-Epidemic Fevers

Dose:

Powder: 1–3 grams
Decoction: 3–9 grams

Substitutes:

1. Stellaria dichtoma (Yin Chai Hu) is used in Russia
2. Rhodiola (another variety of Sro lo) may generally be used and is easier to acquire. Rhodiola himalensis is used in Nepal for Sro lo smug po.

Main Combinations:

1. Lung Heat Cough, Bronchitis, Upper respiratory tract infection, Pneumonia in children, combine Solms-Laubachia Sro lo smug po with Tabasheer, Safflower, White Sandalwood, Licorice
