Ban Xia (Pinellia)

Pinellia ternata

Fu Ling (Poria)

Poria cocos

Bai Zhu (Atractylodes)

Atractylodes macrocephala

Preparation:

Powder

Function:

Strengthens Spleen, Clears Wind-Phlegm, Clears Damp

Use:

1. Hemiplegia
2. Deviation of the eyes and mouth
3. Lost or difficult speech

Dose:

3 grams with decoction of fresh Ginger

Cautions:

Not suitable for Yin deficiency

Modifications:

1. When Tangerine peel (Ju Hong), Licorice and Jujubes (Chinese Date, Da Zao) are added it forms Ban Xia Bai Zhu Tian Ma Tang which is better corrected and better for the Stomach.
