Preparation:
Boil in sufficient water down to half, then add 2 lbs. of Honey, and form a syrup.
Function:
Clears Cold and Damp, settles Wind, stops Spasms
Use:
1. Migraine
2. Epilepsy
3. Apoplexy
4. Paralysis
5. Lethargy
6. Trembling
7. Spasms and Cramps
Dose:
1–2 oz.
Comment:
This was attributed to Fernel, but as Renodeus said ‘It conduces to many affections of the Brain, as Mesue attests’, pointing to the fact that this is a modified version of a formula originally from Mesue.
