Function:
Clears Liver heat
Use:
Liver heat with yellowing of the eyes, headache, loss of appetite, pain or distention over the Liver
“Especially helps with acute and chronic Liver disease”
1. Acute Liver disease
2. Chronic Liver disease
3. Hepatitis
4. Pain or Inflammation over the Liver area
5. Pain in Liver region from Trauma
6. Headache related to Liver heat
7. Eye diseases related to Liver Heat; yellowing of the eyes, or red in the whites of the eyes.
8. Increase in “Bad Blood”
Dose:
2–3 grams, noon and night with warm water.
Cautions:
Not used during Pregnancy
Modifications:
1. A suitable substitute for Birthwort should be used. Costus or Corydalis Yan Hu Suo are possible substitute. See Birthwort for others.
2. Another version uses 100 grams each of Safflower and Chebula, and 75 grams of each of the other herbs.
3. Another variation adds Black Salt. This is called Gur Gum Mchog Bdun Kha Tshar Chan.
