Preparation:

Powder, add water, and form pills of size 3.

Function:

Stops Cough and Wheezing, Eases Pain

Use:

1. Bronchitis
2. Asthma
3. Catarrh
4. especially for persistent Coughs
5. Purges Head and Brain
6. Headache

Dose:

One pill morning and night

Cautions:

1. Avoid overdose;
2. Should not be used in Pregnancy or in Children

Modifications:

Comment:

TCM uses Datura flower in Cough and Wheezing. Here, we see the use of the seed for similar purposes. Care must be taken to avoid overdose or side effects.

Note that Unani has another Pill of Datura used for Premature Ejaculation and spontaneous emission; however it is less commonly used than the above formula which is still official in the Unani Pharmacopoeia.
