* Tu Bie Chong and Motherwort seed are dry-fried
** Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong and Wei Ling Xian are Wine-processed (stir-fried with wine).
*** Silkworms are fried with wheat bran until yellow.

Preparation:

The medicines are split into 2 groups. The first group including animal and insect ingredients are powdered finely. This group includes: Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Di Long, Tu Bie Chong, Wu Gong, Jin Qian Bai Hua She, Quan Xie, Dan Shen.
The remaining herbs are decocted twice, then reduced to a thick consistency. The powders are mixed well to form a mass, from which 1000 tablets are made.

Function:

Moves the Blood, dissolves stasis, relax the Tendons, unblock the Channels, extinguishes internal Wind

Use:

1. Ischemic Stroke Sequelae
2. Hemiplegia
3. Loss of fine motor function
4. Facial Asymmetry following stroke
5. Numbness or rigidity of the Limbs

Dose:

4–6 tablets, three times daily.

Cautions:

1. Strictly Prohibited for Acute Brain Hemorrhage. Not used during the acute phase of Stroke where there may still be bleeding.
2. Not used during Pregnancy
3. Low Blood Pressure
4. Caution for allergies due to the insect medicines.
