Decoction of Horehound

Horehound	Marrubium vulgare
Elecampane	Inula helenium
Coltsfoot	Tussilago farfara
Licorice	Glycyrrhiza glabra	1 oz. ea.

Preparation:

Decoct them in 1 quart of water for 10 minutes, strain. In later times, one- quarter of an ounce of Ammonium Carbonate, and 1 oz. of Brandy was added to preserve it.

Function:

clears Phlegm, stops Cough and Wheezing

Use:

1. Cough
2. Asthma

Dose:

2 tablespoonfuls, three times daily
