* There are a number of herbs supplying Zhim thig: Geranium spp. (G. dahuricum, G. sibiricum and others), Salvia spp., Nepeta coerusens, Stachys spp., Rabdosia spp., Phlomis spp., Euphrasia spp. and others. As several of the varieties of Zhim thig are Salvia species, Sage may be an acceptable substitute.
** This is a variety of Mkhan pa, Artemisia species, meaning Mugwort may be a suitable substitute. Some sources have given Tanacetum species, meaning Tansy may also be a suitable substitute.

Preparation:

Powder and form pills the size of a Pea with Honey.

Function:

Moves the Blood, Clears Heat, Strengthens the Kidneys, Regulates Menstruation

Use:

“a general medicine for all female diseases”
“in particular, according to very secret teaching, it can promote menstruation”
1. Amenorrhea
2. Irregular Menstruation
3. Retained Placenta  (take with a decoction of Spa yag (Lancea tibetica)
4. Postpartum Fever (Especially for Postpartum fever, with heaviness in the body, sweating, swelling, incoherent talkativeness with pain occurs in the head, joints of the limbs and lower back)
5. Postpartum Debility
6. In Mongolia tradition it is used to treat mastopathy
7. Swelling of the Breast (apply externally) 

Dose:

2 grams twice daily with water or Chang (Barley alcohol)
If there is heat in the body, take with a decoction of ‘Bras gsum (Three Seeds)
if there is rlung [Wind] with a decoction of the heel bones
if there is yellowing of the body, with a decoction of Sga skya (Hedychium)
