Gardenia jasminoides | 6 grams ea. |
Preparation:
Break the Gypsum and boil with the Epedhra, removing the foam as it arises. Then add the other herbs and boil to 2 cups.
Function:
Clears Heat, Resists Poison, Clears the Surface
Use:
High Fever, Thirst, Restlessness, flushed face, headache, and lack of sweating
1. Severe Fever including those of Epidemics
2. Tonsillitis
3. Measles
4. Whooping Cough
5. Pneumonia
6. Trigeminal Neuralgia
Dose:
The above is taken over the course of the day in 2 or 3 equal doses.
Cautions:
1. Not used long-term
2. Not used in Cold conditions or Spleen Yang deficiency
3. Not used in Yin deficiency
4. Not used when there is already sweating
5. Not used during Pregnancy
