Botanical name:

Leibnitzia anandria (syn. Gerbera anandria, Tussilago anandria)
L. nepalensis is used in Nepal.

Parts used:

Root (Tibet); Whole herb (TCM)

Temperature & Taste:

Cool, dry. Bitter

Uses:

1. Clears Heat, Resists Toxin: (Tibet, TCM)

-Lung Heat Cough
-Toxic Sores, Boils, Abscesses
-Insect and Snake bites
-hot disorders of the blood

2. Clears Heat and Damp: (Tibet, TCM)

-Diarrhea, Dysentery
-Strangury
-Rheumatalgia with swollen red joints (TCM)
-Leg Ulcers (TCM)

3. Clears Heat, Stops Bleeding: (Tibet, TCM)

-Bleeding from Trauma and Wounds
-whole plant can be used to stop bleeding

Dose:

Powder: 1–3 grams

Main Combinations:

1. Stop Bleeding, Leibnitzia with Gall Bladder (Bile) (Tibet)
2. To grow flesh in Wounds, taken with mother’s milk. (Tibet)
