* Opium can be prepared by dissolving in water and steeping for 5 hours, followed by triturating with Ginger juice.
Preparation:
Powder all herbs except Saffron and Opium, mix well, then add the Saffron and prepared Opium and mix with enough water to form a paste from which pills of 250mg are made.
Function:
Warms the Kidneys, Astringes Essence
Use:
1. Impotence, Erectile dysfunction
2. Premature Ejaculation
3. Poor libido
4. Spermatorrhea
Dose:
250–500mg, once daily with Milk and/or Ghee.
Cautions:
1. Avoid overdose and long-term use.
2. Not used in children or during Pregnancy
3. Avoid use in Constipation
4. Not suitable for Yin deficiency
5. Avoid in those with a historty of opiate abuse..
Modifications:
1. It could be made without Opium
2. In the long-term treatment of Impotence, suitable tonics like Withania and Shilajit should be used to treat the underlying deficiency. Jatiphaladi Vati can be taken with Withania and Milk to improve performance while treating deficiency.
