Infusion for Burnt Bile of Mesue

Herb Name	Latin	Amount *
Black Myrobalan	Terminalia chebula (black)	5 drams
Ginger	Zingiber officinalis
Cinnamon	Cinnamonum zeylanicum
Rock Salt	Sal Gem	1⁄2 scruple ea.

Preparation:

Mix, infuse 6 hours in Fumitory water, express and sweeten.

Function:

Purges Melancholy and Burnt Bile

Use:

For diseases of Burnt Bile; helps prepare and cleanse.
1. Used for Skin diseases
2. Black Jaundice
3. Melancholy diseases of the Head

Dose:

2–4 oz.

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

Mesue had a variation that added Silk.
