Fu Shen (Poria core)

Poria cocos

Yuan Zhi (Polygala)

Polygala tenuifolia

Gan Cao (Licorice)

Glycyrrhiza uralensis

equal parts

Preparation:

Powder finely and make Honey Pills.
Traditionally, Pig’s Blood was added, and the pills were wrapped in Gold leaf.

Function:

Calms the Heart, quiets the Spirit, clears Heat, Settles Wind

Use:

1. Amnesia, Forgetfulness
2. Insomnia
3. Excess thinking, Anxiety
4. Mental disorientation
5. Palpitations from Fright or Anxiety

Dose:

3 grams, traditionally with a decoction of Juncus Deng Xin Cao.

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

Antelope horn can be substituted with Goat horn.
