Nad ma snun ma (Tibet)

Botanical name:
Hackelia uncinata (syn. H. glochidiata, Cynoglossum uncinatum, C. laxum, Eritrichium uncinatum)
Three types of Nad ma are differentiated in Tibetan Medicine:
1. Nad ma ‘byar ma: Cynoglossum wallichii, C. lanceolatum
2. Nad ma snun ma: Hackelia uncinata
3. Nad ma g-yu lo: Lindelofia longifolia, Eritrichium spp.

Aerial parts in flower
Temperature & Taste:
Cool/Neutral, dry. Bitter, Sweet
Uses:
1. Moves the Blood, Heals Bones and Tendons:
-Wounds and Bruising including those of the chest
-Trauma of the Soft tissue, tendons and ligaments
-Fractures
-strengthens bones and joints
-Tumors, including those of the Uterus
2. Clears Damp:
-dries serous fluid
-swelling of the limbs
3. Clears Phlegm, Stops Cough:
-Cough with excess phlegm
Dose:
Powder: 1–3 grams
Can be used topically for Wounds, Trauma and Fractures
Main Combinations:
Cautions:
Toxic in overdose. Contains Pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Avoid long-term use or use in those with Liver disease.
