Comment:
This is an interesting and unique formula. Primarily a mixture of Conserve of Rose and Violet Syrup to which a small amount of a number of medicines are added, including Orpiment and Tabasheer. These two medicines are rarely found together in formula. A number of Chinese formulas still in common use today use Orpiment in Fever. Other cooling medicines such as Barberry and Sandalwood are added, along with Clove and Saffron to penetrate, and Rhubarb to purge.
Cautions:
Avoid overdose due to Arsenic.
