Preparation:
Powder and form a confection with clarified Honey.
Function:
Moves the Blood, clears Phlegm, Benefits Brain
Use:
Memory loss in the aged, especially in cases with signs of Cold and Poor circulation (cyanotic lips, dull complexion etc.)
Dose:
1 dram
Cautions:
Not suited to Heat-type constitutions
Modifications:
1. Stronger if Calamus as added.
Similar Formulas:
Compare with ‘Electuary for Amnesia’, a Unani formula that is the same, but adds Calamus and Ginger in place of Myrrh.
