Botanical name:

Dryopteris fragrans

Parts used:

Whole Herb

Temperature & Taste:

Cold, dry. Bitter. slightly Toxic

Uses:

1. Clears Wind-Damp, Resists Poison:

-Arthritis (TCM)
-Dermatitis, Eczema, Psoriasis (TCM)
-Neutralizes Poison (Tibetan)

2. Clears Heat, Resolves Masses:

-Tumors, Cancer: has been effective against Hepatoma, Lung Cancer, Sarcoma etc
-a number of active compounds have demonstrated anti-cancer effects and are Cytotoxic.
-also for Wounds in Tibetan Medicine

3. Clears Heat and Damp:

-Kidney diseases with Fever (Tibetan Medicine)
-Dysentery with Fever (Tibetan Medicine)

Dose:

Powder: 1–3 grams
Decoction: 3–9 grams

Substitute:

Athyrium filix-femina and Matteuccia struthiopteris are used in Buryat region for Ldum bu re ral.
