Rou Gui (Cinnamon)

Cinnamonum cassia

6 grams

Preparation:

Decoction

Function:

Nourishes Blood, Tonifies Yang, Warms the Uterus

Use:

Cold in the Uterus with menstrual pain, clotting, cold abdominal pain relieved by warmth, a general feeling of Cold, pale tongue and a deep, slow pulse.
1. Late Menstruation
2. Dysmenorrhea

Dose:

The above is decocted to be taken over the course of the day

Cautions:

Not suitable for Heat conditions

Modifications:

1. Painful cramps, add Paeonia Bai Shao and Cyperus rotundus (Xiang Fu)
2. With Qi deficiency, add Atractylodes Bai Zhu
