Botanical name:

Corydalis dasyptera
Two types of Rgu drus are recongised:

1. Superior: Swertia wolfangiana (Rgu drus mchog)
2. Inferior: Corydalis dasyptera (Rgu drus dman pa)

Swertia kingii is called Ser po Rgu drus and is used similarly.
Corydalis suaveolens (syn. Corydalis sheareri) has similar indications in TCM

Parts used:

Whole plant

Temperature & Taste:

Cool, dry. Bitter

Uses:

1. Moves the Blood, Clears Stasis:

-Wounds, Trauma
-‘Supreme for healing Wounds’ (Ljon Shin); powder taken 3 times cures chronic Wounds
-Chronic Pain
-Abdominal pain from Blood stagnation
-Painful Menstruation or Blood stasis of the Womb

2. Clears Heat, Resists Poison:

-Fever of the Vessel Organs
-Epidemic Fever
-Poisoning

Dose:

Powder: 1–3 grams

Substitute:

1. Swertia kingii, S. wolfangiana
2. Cleavers (Galium verum)
