Uses:

1. Clears Heat, Stops Bleeding: (Tibetan)

-excessive Menstruation, Postpartum Bleeding
-Nosebleeding

2. Clears Wind-Damp, Open the Channels, Ease Pain: (TCM)

-Numbness and stiffness from Wind-Damp
-Trauma, Fractures
-also for Fractures and Skull fractures in Tibetan Medicine

Dose:

Decoction: 2–6 grams
Powder: 1–2 grams

Comment:

According to Clark (Quintessence Tantras of Tibetan Medicine) it is a form of Bya po tsi tsi which is principally Celosia. As that is principally used to stop Bleeding in Tibetan Medicine it suggests it to be a suitable substitute.
