Preparation:
Powder; usually a little Sugar is added.
Function:
Clears acid, relieves Phlegm, promotes digestion
Use:
“increase in bad blood in the liver due to ma-ju and the resulting pain in the stomach and liver, flatulence, lack of appetite, reflux of liver blood into the stomach, heartburn, vomiting of acidic liquid”
“especially this medicine is useful in the initial stage of smug po, which is manifested by heartburn and vomiting of sour liquid”
1. Nausea
2. Acid Reflux with Belching
3. Heartburn with loss of Appetite
4. Sour and Watery Vomit
Dose:
2–3 grams twice daily, usually with a little sugar and warm water
Cautions:
None noted
Modifications:
1. When combined with Swertia 8 (Tig ta brgyad pa), it forms Chong Tig. This is used for Headache, Bitter taste, vomiting of Bile and Catarrhal diseases associated with Heat (Bile).
