Potentilla tormentilla
Wild and Alpine varieties were differentiated

Parts used:
Root

Temperature & Taste:
slightly Warm, very dry.

Classifications:
2N. REPELLENT.    2O. ASTRINGENT.    2P. HEMOSTATICS.    2T. GLUTINATE.    2Z. CICATRIZING

Uses:
1. Clears Heat, Stops Bleeding and Leakages:
-‘Tormentil is most excellent to stay all kinds of fluxes of blood or humours in man or woman, whether at nose, mouth or belly’
(Culpeper)
-Diarrhea, Dysentery, Gastroenteritis and Cholera etc.

2. Clears Heat, Resists Poison:
-expels all Venom and Poison;


3. Stops Leakage:
-prolapse of the Uterus, Leukorrhea.


4. Clears Heat and Damp, Opens the Liver:
-adjunct in Jaundice.


5. Kills Worms:
-Worms in children.

6. Externally:

-Bruising, Wounds, Sores, Ulcers, Running Sores, Itches, and Eruptions;
-strong decoction makes a very good gargle in Ulcerated Mouth and Throat.
